In an effort to reduce the number of deaths and injuries resulting from vehicle pursuits, ALERT International is providing a 4 hour free comprehensive pursuit policy program. This program is a Federal Grant funded training. This effort addresses law enforcement vehicular pursuit policy issues, including factors to consider when initiating, conducting and terminating a vehicular pursuit. Procedures discussed in pursuit policy workshops are consistent with the International Association of Chiefs of Police guidelines. Recognizing that pursuit driving is a very dangerous activity, police departments around the United States have begun to change their perspective of pursuits and their understanding of pursuit policy and training. The workshop is designed to provide law enforcement officers with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and successfully conduct vehicular pursuits.

ILEA Certified - Free Training - 4 hour classroom In an effort to reduce the number of deaths and injuries resulting from vehicle pursuits, ALERT International and IADLEST are partnering to provide a comprehensive pursuit policy program. This effort addresses law enforcement vehicular pursuit policy issues, including factors to consider when initiating, conducting, and terminating a vehicular pursuit. Procedures discussed in pursuit policy workshops are consistent with the International Association of Chiefs of Police guidelines. Recognizing that pursuit driving is a very dangerous activity, police departments around the United States have begun to change their perspective of pursuits and their understanding of pursuit policy and training. This free four-hour pursuit policy workshop will provide guidance for officers. Training will include: • Factors to consider when initiating a vehicular pursuit. • Comparison and validation of law enforcement policies pertaining to pursuits with a model policy from the IACP. • Methods to successfully conclude a vehicular pursuit. The workshop is designed to provide law enforcement officers with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and successfully conduct vehicular pursuits. Training includes Pursuit Policy Workshop and Emergency Response Driving. Attendees should bring Their Agency’s Pursuit Policy. Attendees need to go on line and register for this class at www.pursuittraining.org. Workshop is for Mississippi Delta Community College LETA Cadets. The class will be conducted from 6PM-9PM after the cadet’s regular training day. The PPW wiHll be conducted during the academy’s regular Driver’s Training week.
